Traders can register themselves with the department through the mobile app -- DVATMsewa -- giving basic information like name, Aadhaar number, date of birth, mobile number and residential address. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
"Traders, whose annual turnover is more than Rs 20 lakh, can register themselves with trade and taxes department through the mobile app without any verification of their business by VATO," said a senior government official.
The official said after applicant downloads the app, he or she will also have to give all information relating to name of firms or organisation, PAN number, email-id, business address. The application will be required to upload the image of business premises.
"On submission of the request of the dealer, the computer system of the department will verify Aadhar details from Aadhar/UID portal and will also verify PAN details of the dealer with income tax data being maintained by NDSL," the official said.
After successful verification of PAN and Aadhar details, such information submitted by the dealer for registration will be made available to the VATO in their login.
Once the details submitted are verified as "genuine", they will have to file registration application with scanned requisite documents and fee, the official said.
