Vakrangee Softwares bags UID Linked Haryana PDS Project

Vakrangee Softwares Ltd (VSL), has bagged a project from Haryana Government to replace paper based ration card to UID linked smart card based Public Distribution System (PDS) in Haryana state.

The Government of Haryana has outsourced the commissioning and management of the infrastructure necessary to implement the proposed processes at the Department Offices, CONFED Offices, State Agency Godowns, Oil Terminals, Data Center and Fair Price Shops. Besides this certain parts of the processes like delivery of services, call centre etc. have also been outsourced. The project requires the state wide roll out of the project within a specified period. Its scope includes:

- Replacement of Paper based Ration Cards by Smart Card based Ration cards across the state

- Procurement, deployment and commissioning of the requisite IT & Smart Card infrastructure at all the locations

- Commencement of operations at each location including provisioning of manpower, training, technical support and setting up call centre at a centralized location

- To enroll beneficiaries for UID, by capturing biometric details of them.

Post State wide rollout of the project, the ownership of all hardware including Smart Transactional Terminal (STTs) and related system software will be transferred to the department. VSL will be required to do operations (Enrollment, printing and personalization and issuance of smart ration cards) for one year after the completion of state wide roll out. We will also provide an AMC for a period of 5 years for the complete hardware from the completion date of State Wide roll out of the project.

The implementation of small card based ration card will lead to more transparency and will eliminate the pilferages on bogus accounts from the system. For the project, VSL is a consortium partner and its share in the project has an approximate value of Rs. 100 Crore.

The stock was trading at Rs.383, down by Rs.1.95 or 0.51%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.387 and low of Rs.381.25.

The total traded quantity was 5301 compared to 2 week average of 26358.
