Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia has been increasingly coming under attack from the Opposition and a section of Congress MPs. Lately, he has been at the receiving end over his pet project - the unified identification (UID) scheme.
Ahluwalia was dismayed when Congress MPs on the parliamentary standing panel joined chairman Yashwant Sinha to suggest a modified enabling Bill for the UID project.
Meanwhile, Ahluwalia has another task before him: to address the reservations that home minister P. Chidambaram has on the project.
