The opposition Congress in Tripura today threatened to launch a state wide campaign if a CBI inquiry is not ordered to unearth alleged irregularities in Aadhaar (Unique Identity Authority of India) scheme implementation in the state.
Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly and senior Congress leader Ratan Lal Nath alleged that a scam of Rs seven crore in implementing the Aadhar scheme in the state which being done by the state government agencies. Nath said he had written a letter to the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar yesterday demanding CBI inquiry into the alleged scam.
"The CBI investigation into the scam is required in view of involvement of several big shots. Some people from outside the state might have got involved in siphoning off substantial amount.
People of the state feel only CBI probe could unearth the scam," he had written in his letter to Sarkar.
