Chief Minister N. Rangasamy participated in the biometric data collection for the National Population Register here on Wednesday.
The second phase of the NPR project, which is under the control of the Director of Census Operation, began on Wednesday, with Mr. Rangasamy and his family members entering their details .
The data collected from Puducherry will be sent to the Prime Minister's Office and used to issue the Unique Identity number, ‘Aadhar,' according to Revenue Department. The project has been implemented in Puducherry, Villianur and Bahour. In Oulgaret, census officials will distribute forms door-to-door on where to assemble to register the details.
