Talk on Aadhaar Card –ISSUES & IMPLICATIONS
CPI M Thiruvananthapuram district committee has decided to organize a Talk on the topic: “AADHAAR CARD – Issues and Implications.”
Dr R Ramakumar, Eminent Economist and Associate Professor, Tata Institute of Social Sciences has agreed to deliver the keynote address.
The Govt of India is on the process of implementing the UID project covering the entire population of the country. This project aims to generate a mammoth data base with data security provisions, covering the personal and professional data of each and every citizen of the country. The Unique ID supplied to each person is supposed to be used for the delivery of state and central govt schemes. This talk focuses on the issues and implications of the UID Project. The speaker will elaborate on similar exercises taken by different nations and will discuss the present national project in the light of the experiences.
