A controversy broke out today as government made Aadhar number mandatory for Bharat Ratna. Renowned economist Prof Chakram Sen was denined Bharat Ratna because he failed to produce Aadhar card.
We wish to remind our readers that Prof Chakram Sen who received his doctorate in economics from JNU has done extensive research in the field of economics. He worte a thesis ‘Applications of Nonlinear Econometric Models on Chimpanzes of Africa’ which was received very well within JNU. Prof Sen is a staunch supporter of poverty reduction by card enabled entitlements. He has joined various TV debates on the topic from the Manhattan, US where he is living with his family since last 20 years.
Highly placed sources say there was an utter chaos at the Rashtrpati Bhavan where Bharat Ratna award function was held. As soon as prof Chakram Sen’s name was announced few members of pro-Aadhar faction of government rushed near the stage and demanded Aadhar Card from Prof Chakram Sen.
Prof Chakram Sen reportedly produced a credit card, which infuriated the mob, and there was a ruckus between pro and anti Aadhaar sections of the government.
Angry president Shri Pranab Mukherjee was heard telling the fighting sections – ‘Thish ish not Lok Shobha. Thish ish RashtrPotti Bhovan’. Finance minister Shri P Chidambaram told the reporters that Aadhar card was a pure magic while score of Congressmen were seen kicking and punching each other in the background.
Award function was cancelled after the fiasco.
Shri Digvijay Singh termed the incident a communal attack by the RSS and urged nation to stay united to preserve the secular fabric of the nation. When Bangladeshis Indians in remote places have Aadhar cards why terrorists the opposition are opposed to it, he questioned. He produced a saffron colour handkerchief as proof of RSS involvement, which he recovered from the scene.
