The Kerala State IT Mission has speeded up its efforts to complete the enrolment of Aadhaar in the state with the project to convert Kerala into a fully ‘Aadhaar-enrolled state’ entering the final phase.
As of now, 90 per cent of the population in the state has enrolled for Aadhaar and 2.50 crore people have received the Aadhaar number, IT Mission said in a statement.
The Mission has launched efforts to establish Permanent Enrolment and Updation Centres for helping the public to make corrections in the Aadhaar cards or enrolling in it at the regional level. A project to help the bedridden enroll in Aadhaar has been rolled out in Ernakulam district.
This facility will be extended to other districts  soon. The UIDAI has also arranged a facility for downloading e-Aadhaar cards from www.uidai.gov.in before the enrolled individual is issued the card.
The e-aadhaar holds the same validity as the card, the Kerala State IT Mission said.
