PANAJI: The Pilerne citizens forum has petitioned the Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to order a scrutiny of the process of the issue of Aadhar cards in Goa.
Alleging irregularities in the issue of Aadhar cards, the forum has lamented that their petitions on the same issue to UIAI chairman Nandan Nilekani, minister of state for statistics and programme implementation, Shrikant Kumar Jena and Goa chief secretary B Vijayan have evoked no positive response from any of them. The forum has also lamented that their representations to the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and to Goa governor BV Wanchoo have gone unheeded.
"We plead that appropriate action at your end be taken as expeditiously as possible, as the subject matter revolves around the security of the state. That apart, appropriate corrective measures are warranted as there is imminent threat that non-eligible persons could take benefit of the various features of Aadhar card at the cost of eligible persons," states the petition
