BANGALORE: Now you can fill your Aadhaar application forms in Kannada too. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched its multi-lingual website to reach out to all sections of the population on Friday.
The website, www.uidai.gov.in, will now appear in five regional languages - Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil - in addition to Hindi and English. The authority is planning to add other regional languages as micro-sites of the main website in the second phase, including Assamese, Malayalam, Odishi, Punjabi and Telugu. With this, Aadhaar will be accessible in 13 languages.

"We have launched our website in five languages today for communicating to a larger audience across the country on issues related to Aadhaar. We plan to increase the language versions in future so that residents are able to view important information in a language they are comfortable with," said Nandan Nilekani, chairman, UIDAI, while launching the multi-lingual website from UIDAI Tech Centre, Bangalore.
However, Aadhaar letters are being printed in 13 languages at present and options are provided to update data in these languages.
