GUNTUR: Union petroleum minister Panabaka Lakshmi on Sunday said her ministry would seek the advice of the Union finance minister to issue a circular to LPG dealers directing them not to insist on the Aadhaar card for providing subsidy. She said her ministry would consult the finance ministry to issue a categorical directive to all LPG dealers to provide relief to consumers who do not possess Aadhaar cards in the wake of apex court's ruling.
The consent of the finance ministry is essential as the process was introduced to curb bogus consumers, she said. On the issue of a new capital, she said people have been making baseless allegations against her. Lakshmi said that she had proposed that the new capital should be located between Vijayawada and Guntur.
"I am ready to donate my properties to those making baseless allegations if they come forward with evidence to prove that I own properties anywhere near Vijayawada or Guntur," she said. Lakshmi said she could not make officials complete works taken up under the MP LADS despite being a Union minister due to pressure from some individuals in the party.
