“Nandan Nilekani met me this morning and shared his views... I have conveyed to him whatever I should as KPCC president,” Parameshwara said after the 30-minute meeting.
Asked by a channel whether Nilekani had shown interest in the 2014 polls, Parameshwara said: “It appears so.” He added it would be a “good development if such people enter politics”.
The Telegraph had reported on September 18 the likelihood of Nilekani joining the Congress and entering the poll fray.
Nilekani has been silent on the buzz, which became louder after the state’s ruling Congress shortlisted him among three probables for the Bangalore South seat.
Senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar is the five-time MP from the constituency, which has been known not to favour Congress candidates since the late 1970s.
Asked further about today’s meeting and Nilekani’s plans, Parameshwara said: “Let us see the next developments.”
