New Delhi: The Congress core committee has recommended that Aadhaar card should not be made mandatory for LPG subsidy.
The committee has also instructed that the number of subsidised cylinders should be increased to 12 per year and that the price of cylinder should not be hiked.
Many states, including Kerala had requested that Aadhaar card should not be made mandatory for LPG subsidy before the polls.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had informed Union Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily that the number of cylinders per year should be increased.
