There have been allegations that former UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani misused his post to further his political ambitions. Rubbishing the allegations, Nilekani said that he decided to join politics only 8 months ago.
Nilekani was speaking to CNN-IBN Deputy Editor Sagarika Ghose on a new show Open Mike.

Sagarika Ghose: Just on the Aadhar, there is a tough question coming in for you on twitter. This is some Kailas P4u writing, Did Nandan misuse his entire chairmanship of Aadhar to further his political ambition?
Nandan Nilekani: That is complete rubbish. I took a decision to enter politics only about eight months back and when I did the Aadhar project I did it to make sure that everybody in India had an ID. Now I am standing for election, so I don't think any of this is consequential.
