New Delhi: Election bugle has been sounded and with that the leaders have hit the ground, rushing to woo one and all; a similar rush was also seen at camps put up by the Election commission for the voters to get their voter-id cards. But having a voter-ID card is not enough to vote, one's name must also figure in the voter's list. Network 18 and netCORE now makes it easy for the voters to check and ensure that their name is on the electoral list.
"My name is not voter list: I could not vote despite having an Aadhaar card," said a voter.
It is the same story every election, people are unable to cast a vote despite having a voter ID card. To make sure the situation is not the same this election, Network 18 has tied up with netCORE to offer an easy solution. All one needs to do is type in his/her voter ID number and SMS it on 9845498454 and check if the name is on the electoral rolls or not and if it is then from which constituency.
So to rectify the situation go to the Election Commission website, download Form 6 and submit it either online or post it to the local Block Office. But make sure that it is done soon as time is ticking away.
"You can register till one week before filing of nominations and if you do not have a voter ID card you can still vote by showing your Aadhaar card," says Akshay Raut, DG, Election Commission.
"Go out and vote, use your right, get yourself registered. That is why we have started the go vote campaign," adds Controlling Shareholder and Managing Director of Network 18.
One can also register to vote on Firstpost.com, where almost 90,000 people have already registered .
