Land sharks in Lucknow have forged property documents using Aadhaar number to grab land from a couple. Shailendra Chauhan and his wife Asha had bought a piece of land adjacent to their residence several years back and were planning to construct a commercial complex.
In March 2014, a broker visited their home with an offer to buy the plot. The Chauhans rejected the offer. “I did not show interest but could sense that land sharks were trying to usurp my property,” Mr Chauhan said.
