KAKKANAD: The Ernakulam district jail authorities have hastened steps to provide aadhar cards to 58 of its inmates, who are yet to receive the unique identification cards. The authorities started the procedure in the wake of a Government Order which directed the jail authorities to provide aadhaar cards to all its inmates.”
The enrolment procedure for getting the aadhaar card started from 9 am in a separate room,” said Sudheer, Jail superintendent.
Around 42 applications, out of the 58, have been processed, and the remaining 14 will be completed in the coming days,” Sudheer added.
