‘Aadhaar not mandatory for getting LPG subsidy’
The State-level Committee on Food and Civil Supplies has stated that it is not mandatory to have an Aadhaar number for getting LPG subsidy. It will suffice if the beneficiary provides the bank account number.
Commissioner of Civil Supplies C. Partha Sarathi said in an official press release of the committee meeting on Thursday that customers could know their subsidy details from the LPG dealer/website/customer service cell of oil marketing companies. They could also get the details of the linkage of bank and account and subsidy by dialling *99*99# from their mobile.
The Modified Direct Benefit of LPG will be launched on November 15 and a grace period of three months would be given to customers for joining the scheme. Consumers who have a complaint or need clarification can contact the State Level Coordinator for LPG on toll free telephone number 18002333555.
