6047 - Aadhaar card enrolment camps begin in Madurai - The Hindu

Corporation covers wards 18, 27, 68 and 79 in the first phase
Special camps for obtaining Aadhaar card being conducted by the Madurai Corporation commenced at various places in the city on Wednesday.

The three-day camps from November 19 to 22 are to enable the residents to complete biometric procedures meant for getting Aadhaar card and register their particulars as required by the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Turn out
Those who have already submitted their details during the census taken in 2010 for the National Population Register (NPR) are turning up for the special camps to enrol for the Aadhaar card.

In the first phase, the corporation is covering Ward 18 S.S.Colony area in Zone-1, Ward 27 Karpaga Nagar area in Zone-2, Ward 68 Draupathiamman Koil locality in Zone-3 and Ward 79 Perumal Theppam area in Zone-4.

Aadhaar enrolment camps are also being conducted simultaneously at the corporation’s added areas including Avaniapuram (Ward 62), Anaiyur (Ward 3) and Tirupparankundram (Ward 95).

Other camps soon

After completing these wards in the first round, the corporation will announce the dates for the camps to be conducted in other wards in the city.

The Aadhaar enrolment camps are conducted at the respective offices of each zone.
