BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up a Permanent Enrolment Centre (PEC) for Aadhaar registration in the Capital.

The PEC has been set up at BMC’s Jatri Nivas in Laxmisagar and will function for the next two months. Residents of the city, who are yet to register for Aadhaar, can enrol themselves at the PEC. Even individuals, whose Aadhaar cards have been rejected by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on technical grounds, can register again at the same PEC.

The Corporation had conducted a drive in each Ward last year for collection of biometric details for Aadhaar card registration. But it was found that more than 25 per cent of the city’s population were not covered under the Aadhaar drive. The registration of Aadhaar cards is being undertaken as per the instructions issued by Directorate of Census Operations (DCO).
