State Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on November 29 said that aadhaar card is not mandatory for availing of the pension in the state.
He told villagers of Patwar in Narnaund Tehsil of Hisar District that the state government is not making any changes to the current pension policy. The beneficiaries of old age, widow and handicapped pension schemes will continue to receive their pension in the same way as they have been receiving till date. No aadhaar card will be required for pension.
With this announcement, the pensioners in the state breathe a sigh of relief.
The FM also said that the pension for old age, widow and handicapped people will be increased by Rs 200 from January 1 onwards and the pensioners will start receiving the new pension from the month of February.
