Collector Ronald Ross has said that efforts were on to provide financial succour (ex gratia) to those families which suffered in the hands of naxalites in the district.
At a meeting here on Saturday, he said that the committee comprising Superintendent of Police S. Chandrasekhar Reddy and Joint Collector A. Ravinder Reddy, Additional Joint Collector P. Rajaram and District Revenue Officer A. Manohar decided to extend an amount of Rs.5 lakh to each of 97 such families.
Proposals were also sent to the government to that effect, he said.In a separate meeting, Joint Collector A. Ravinder Reddy said that the cooking gas (LPG) consumers need to submit a set of documents consisting of bank account and Aadhaar card in a prescribed format to respective gas dealers by March 30 to get the subsidy on gas.
Conducting a review on the subject with gas agencies, bankers and civil supplies officers, he asked them to launch awareness campaign on the need of submission of said documents and also on the subsidy part.
Out of total of 4,27,402 gas connections 92 per cent Aadhaar seeding was over with gas agencies, while 71 per cent with banks.
Suggesting the authorities concerned to take initiative for early completion of the process of all connections, he said that those who had not taken Aadhaar card should get it soon.
Lead Bank Manager Ramakrishna Rao, Deputy LDM Ravindranath, District Supplies Officer Kondal Rao and other officers were present.
