7401 - Digital Locker Has Been Rolled Out by the Government of India - Bangalorean


A beta version of the digital locker has been rolled out by Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DietY) Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India. Citizens would be allowed to place all their certificates in that beta version of digital locker. They could save their birth certificates to university degree online in that locker in digital format. They would then can access those documents by using their Aadhaar numbers. One of the most ambitious aspect of the Digital India Programme by Minister Narendra Modi is that a user is required to create the login account, to try out the digital version of the digital locker, at the specific website using Unique Identification number (UID) or his/her Aadhaar card.


On Tuesday (Feb 12, 2015), DeitY, the department of electronics and information technology, had floated the beta version. It also has asked the users to comment on the idea of government i.e. crowdsourcing platform myGov.in. it was reported that multiple attempts to create an account remained useless. On each try they got the message that UID service is not responding, try again later.
