By now, it’s pretty clear that the procedure of Aadhaar linkage with LPG dealers has turned out to be a fiasco. One can get the benefit of the booked cylinder only after some months and that too after making few visits to banks. The gas dealers sometimes also cancel the cylinder without anybody’s notice.
Sometimes, one never gets the subsidy in bank account. Why can’t the direct benefit scheme be given through the gas agency personnel who bring gas cylinders to homes? I see no reason why the government should link Aadhaar card number with LPG gas connections and bank subsidies.

IT’S ILLOGICAL
Going by the number of complaints related to direct subsidy of gas and Aadhaar card linkages, it’s clear that the scheme is illogical. Right from day one, the beneficiaries are struggling and saddled with innumerable issues. It’s as if the government does not want to give subsidy to everyone.
Instead of dilly-dallying over subsidy, why can’t the government simply declare that they are not keen on providing subsidy and face the wrath of public? While the government says that subsidy is being misused, at the same time, on its part, it is unable to implement the scheme properly.
Ironically, general public do not have any idea about whom to contact when they face issues related to direct benefit scheme. To some extent, gas agencies and companies too should take the blame. Unfortunately, the government is not able to control this issue, but continues to penalise public by not releasing subsidy amount.
