Hyderabad, March 14:

Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etela Rajender today said a total of 3,62,05,809 Aadhaar cards have been distributed in ten districts of the State.

Replying to a question by Vulola Gangadhar Goud ( MLC), Rajender said Aadhar cards were issued so far in the State as furnished by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The minister said there was no proposal to avail the services of non-Government organisations for speedy and effective implementation of the scheme as the scheme was being implemented by UIDAI and the Telangana government was not aware of any such proposals.

The government also set up a Permanent Enrolment Center (PEC) to enable people to get their Aadhar cards by enrolling their family details, he said. Mahbubnagar district has the highest number of 64 PECs followed by Nalgonda 60 and Karimnagar 54. Hyderabad has only 15 PECs. (NSS)
