To ensure error-free electoral roll, a special camp would be held in all the 556 polling booths that comes under Salem North and Salem South Assembly constituency in the corporation limits on April 12. Corporation Commissioner K.R. Selvaraj said that the Election Commission of India has launched the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme from March 3 to 31 for linking Aadhaar data with electoral roll. Door-to-door verification and correction of errors have been carried out from March 3. A special camp would be held on April 12 in all the polling booths in the corporation limits. Electors can present their Aadhaar number, mobile number and email address in the polling booths on Sunday. Citizens who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2015 can submit form for inclusion of names. Electors who want to change address and carryout corrections in electoral rolls can participate in the camp. Electors who want to include Aadhaar number should come with a photocopy of Aadhaar card and electors identity card.
