Punjab government on Friday asked students eligible to get scholarships under the state’s schemes to link their accounts with their Aadhaar cards to enable quick transfer of funds.
“This has been initiated to credit the scholarships online in a transparent manner,” an official spokesman said.
“Scholarship funds will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.”
According to new rules, those who want to avail themselves of the state’s scholarship schemes must first get their bank accounts linked to their Aadhar cards. — PTI
