The second phase of special camps for preparing an error-free and authentic electoral roll were held in all the 1,629 polling booths across the six Assembly segments in the district on Sunday, according to a press release.

The camps were held as part of the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) announced by the Election Commission of India. The aim of the camps was to link and authenticate data in Electors’ Photo Identity Cards with Aadhaar data, correct errors or make relevant entry pertaining to electors, and improve image quality.

Booth-Level Officers (BLOs) guided the voters in making corrections in electors’ data. The camps will also be held again on May 24.

Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan inspected the polling booth at the Government Higher Secondary School in Eraniel. He appealed to the voters to cooperate in the preparation of an error-free electoral roll.

Mr. Chanvan said that the voters could also link their Aadhaar Card details online.
