81,28,477 Aadhaar numbers linked with voters’ list

The Aadhaar numbers of as many as 81,28,477 voters have so far been collected to link these with voters’ list in Haryana. Out of the total of 1,66,94,590 voters in the State, about 49 per cent of them have been linked. There is a target to link 85 per cent of Aadhaar numbers by the end of June 2015, said Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad while reviewing the progress of Aadhaar collection work through video conferencing with various Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, and Election Registration Officers from here on Monday.
A statewide special campaign was organised at all polling stations on May 17 to link Aadhaar numbers with voters’ list. Continuing this campaign, the booth level officers (BLOs) have been going from door-to-door to collect their Aadhaar numbers. By and large, all people above 18 years of age have their Aadhaar numbers, said Walgad.
