Right to privacy
The article, “A basic right is in danger” (July 31), seems to have been based on an unfounded fear of people losing privacy.
Has the writer even considered the fact that many of them do not have access to even physical privacy? Her fear, so greatly anointed with legal jugglery, only concerns persons who maintain multiple identities with the sole intention of avoiding or evading government dues.
She states: “This is a democracy, and while opinions may vary about Aadhar, the government is expected to act in the best interests of the people.” Whose interests are being harmed by implementation of the Aadhar programme? The common citizen’s or the one who maintains multiple identities?
LET us not stoop low to undermine the foresight of the government.
