CHENNAI: Following the completion of installation of equipment for issuing plastic Aadhaar cards in all 333 Common e-Service Centres (CSCs) across the State, over 76,000 of the cards have been issued to applicants. The CSCs have been set up and managed by the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV).
Addressing a press meet at the CSC at the Secretariat, managing director of TACTV J Kumarargurbaran said that within a month, the centres would provide another service - updating of Aadhaar cards, change of address, telephone numbers etc. Preparatory work for this was nearing completion, he added. Responding to a question, Kumaragurubaran said applications for getting Aadhaar cards could not be accepted by the centres. Of the 333 centres, 264 were in all taluks, 50 division offices in Chennai Corporation, 15 zonal offices of Chennai Corporation, Chennai Corporation’s headquarters, State Secretariat and at the Regional Passport Offices located in Madurai and Chennai.
