For the convenience of people approaching the passport office for online registration, a new facility was inaugurated by Collector L. Subramanian on Wednesday.
The objective of opening e-seva/e-service centres was to minimise the inconvenience to people seeking different certificates required for getting assistance through government welfare schemes.
Through these centres, 1, 03, 812 applications were received so far and 93,862 certificates issued, , Dr. Subramanian said, and added that the certificates were issued in five working days.
Pay Rs. 30
For existing Aadhaar card holders, a new plastic Aadhaar card would be issued on payment of Rs. 30, while those who had filed their names and recorded their fingerprints for getting the card should remit Rs. 40, he added.
