Seeding of Aadhaar card number with a voter’s identity card (EPIC) has been stopped following instructions from the Election Commission of India, Collector and District Election Officer N. Yuvaraj informed on Wednesday.
The programme was stopped following Supreme Court’s instruction while disposing of a writ petition.
The Apex court said that the Aadhaar card should only be involved in the public distribution system and LPG refills distribution.
