Federal Bank launches mobile app

Federal Bank has launched a mobile application for opening savings bank accounts. It is an upgrade to FedBook. The bank has introduced the app as an upgrade to FedBook, its e-passbook app, launched two years ago.


Anyone having an Aadhaar card and PAN card can open a savings bank account and get the account number instantly using a mobile anywhere, any time, said an official release recently. An initial remittance not exceeding of Rs.10,000 can also be made. To open an account, one has to download FedBook on the mobile and follow 3 steps: take a selfie and have the Aadhaar and PAN Card scanned. The app verifies the Aadhaar card real time, and opens the account on the click of a button.
