GURGAON: To speed up the process of Aadhaar card verification for school students, the administration has installed Aadhaar card machines at six schools in the city, of which three are private and three government schools.
The three private schools are Delhi Public School (DPS) Sector 45, Blue Bells Public School and S N Sideshwar School.
"We have six machines in six schools and it will help us ensure that every student has an Aadhaar card," said district education officer Manoj Kaushik. He added that till now 94% students in government schools and almost 65% students in private schools have been covered.
According to officials, each machine produces an average of about 70-80 cards per day and the verificiation process is hoped to be complete by December end. |
Aditi Misra, principal of DPS Sector 45, said, "It is a great initiative. About 60% of students have been covered in the secondary wing and 40% in primary."
Kaushik said there were some hiccups in obtaining the machines and the process would be further expedited if more machines were provided by the government.
