Aadhaar Cards have already been distributed to 86 per cent of the residents of Chhattisgarh, officials stated.
About 95 per cent of the people have been registered till date.
Chief Minister Raman Singh reviewed the progress of distribution of Aadhaar Cards in the Collectors’ Conference the other day at the Mantralaya here.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department officials said that as on December 31, 2015 about 2.33 crore citizens have received their Aadhaar cards.
The target is to cover all the 2.70 crore citizens. The registration is being carried on by the Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI)
The Aadhaar cards had been issued to 10.54 lakh citizens in Raipur district and 14.98 lakh cards have been issued to Rajnandgaon district residents.
The task of linking several public welfare schemes sponsored by the Central and State government with ‘Aadhaar Card’ will be accomplished in the Chhattisgarh shortly, officials stated.
