Here comes the good news for those who are yet to receive their Aadhaar letter, as the Ministry of Communication and IT has recently issued an advisory to the district Collectors to send the request for extending the facility of advance search and e-Aadhaar download to the officers of various departments to facilitate printing and seeding of Aadhaar of such beneficiaries by just typing his /her first name.
The advisory was issued in the backdrop of a decision taken recently by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 9th meeting of Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI), an IT-based multi-modal platform, under which he reviewed progress with respect to Aadhaar and its seeding with top officials of various central departments and state governments via video conferencing.
An official from the state department said that recently, an UIDAI official provided training to the officers of various government departments on authenticating procedure and were also trained on how to issue Aadhaar letter to the beneficiaries.
A beneficiary who has lost Aadhaar acknowledgment receipt need not have to worry now as the advance search in the Aadhaar database will help a field officer to issue Aadhaar letter by just typing his/her first name or district and village.
Though it was claimed that Aadhaar saturation has already exceeded 91 per cent in the state, however, of the total 14.58 lakh population in the state, only 75.2 percent has received Aadhaar cards while the remaining people have either not enrolled or they have not been able to receive their Aadhaar card or letter.
The extension of facility of advance search into Aadhar data base and e-Aadhaar download and printing to the field level officers of the state government will be for the period of three months.
“The district Collector who is the in-charge of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme must approach the UIDAI regional office with the list of field officers to whom such facility is to be extended,” the advisory reads.
“It is seen that while some states have achieved remarkable results in Aadhaar seeding, the concern has been raised by some state governments that many of the beneficiaries have not yet received Aadhaar letters, even though Aadhaar unique ID may have been generated for them,” the advisory further reads.
