9892 - HARYANA RANKS 3RD IN AADHAAR SATURATION - Daily Pioneer

Haryana ranks third in the country in terms of Aadhaar saturation with 2,62,24,830 residents or 98 per cent of the projected population of 2,67,66,728 in 2015 having Aadhaar as their identity.

The Government departments in Haryana were on Tuesday asked to expedite Aadhaar seeding in various schemes for smooth implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
At a meeting, State Additional Chief Secretary, Electronics and Information Technology, Keshni Anand Arora exhorted the Government departments to expedite Aadhaar seeding in various schemes.

Arora was reviewing Direct Benefit Transfer and Aadhaar seeding in the various schemes.

She said that Aadhaar seeding in flagship DBT schemes viz. Public Distribution System, Kerosene, Direct Benefit of LPG (DBT-L), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO),National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana  (IGMSY) and
scholarships was discussed in the meeting.

She said that with 98.8 per cent Aadhar Seeding in MGNREGA, Haryana ranks second in the country. The number of beneficiaries is 579114, of which Aadhar seeded are 572313. In Public Distribution System (PDS), Aadhaar seeding in Haryana is 70.6 per cent with 93,64,539 records digitised.
The number of beneficiaries is 1,32,56,675. In case of DBT-L, Aadhaar seeding in Haryana is 75.6 per cent with Aadhaar of 23,91,966 LPG consumers linked with Aadhaar. The number of beneficiaries are 3163254.
In case of   National Social Assistance Program, Aadhaar seeding in the State is 86.6 per cent as out of total 321992 beneficiaries, 278773 are with Aadhar.

She said that in PMJDY, Haryana with 71.6 per cent seeding  is ranked at ninth position in all India in  Aadhaar Seeding, as out of its total 5187683 accounts, 3715549 are Aadhar seeded.
