Aadhaar card is not essential to receive voter slip, according to Collector S. Nagarajan.
At a meeting held here on Monday, he said that voter slips had so far been distributed to 5.39 lakh voters out of a total of 10.31 lakh voters in the four Assembly constituencies in the district.
Efforts were under way to distribute voter slips to the remaining voters in the district, he added.
If any election official insisted on production of Aadhaar card to issue voter slip, voters might lodge complaints with the presiding officers in Andipatti (98944 36368), Periyakulam (94450 00451), Bodinayakkanur 94430 93091 and Cumbum (94450 00452), the Collector said.
Dindigul
Place of work was allotted to police officials engaged in poll duty in the seven Assembly constituencies through randamisation.
Inspecting randamisation here on Monday, Collector Satyaprata Sahoo said 1,962 police personnel would be deployed for election duty in the seven constituencies — 152 of them would be in Palani, 169 in Oddanchatram, 168 in Athoor, 137 in Nilakottai, 192 in Natham, 108 in Dindigul and 217 in Vedasandur. As many as 819 police officials would be doing other election works.
Static committee, flying squad, expenditure committee and monitoring committee had already been taking efforts to conduct the election in a free and fair manner, he added.
