The Gujarat government on Saturday appealed to the Centre to conduct the National Eligibility-cum -Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS course in regional languages for the benefit of students.

Speaking at the 11th meeting of the Inter-State Council (ISC) in New Delhi, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel said conducting the test in regional languages will benefit students. The same demand has earlier been raised by some other states. She also laid emphasis on the need for having more coastal police stations in Gujarat to fill the gap in the coastal policing, given its proximity to Pakistan. She urged the Centre to consider its request for financial assistance for setting up a forensic laboratory.
