Dharwad: Based on the success of aadhaar enrolment, the union government has now decided to issue unique identity cards for physically challenged and this project will be launched within a month, said president of the Physically Challenged Government Employees' Association H P Kadlimatti.
He told reporters here that the Centre has launched a dedicated website for this project.
Prior to the launch of the project, the Centre has sought a few details from the beneficiaries like their photographs, signature, medical certificate, details of aadhar card and voter ID card. The applicants have to submit the scanned copies of these documents online or through post.
The applications can be sent to http://www.swavlambancard.gov.in or submit soft copies to http://ksgheasso.blogspot.com or Karnataka State Government Disable employees Association.
The physically challenged persons possessing this card will get all the facilities guaranteed to them in the Constitution and by the successive governments.
Kadlimatti asked the physically challenged to make use of this facility and upload their applications at the earliest.
