The Supreme Court has resumed hearing the petitions challenging the validity of Aadhaar.

The five-member Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, hearing the petitions filed against Aadhaar include Justices AM Khanwilkar, Adarsh Kumar Sikri, DY Chandrachud and Ashok Bhushan.

None of the judges who 'rebelled' against CJI Mishra were included in this five-member bench.

So far, the SC has received multiple petitions questioning Aadhaar's validity and possible leakage of people's personal data submitted for the identification.

There have also been petitions filed regarding the linkage of Aadhaar's 12-digit number with mobile phones, bank accounts, etc, the last date for which was extended to March 31 this year.

Despite consecutive reports and claims, the government has refuted claims of data leak.
