Her fingerprints erased due to decomposition
An attempt by the police to identify the pregnant woman who was found butchered, has failed. A police officer associated with the investigation said they tried to identify her using her fingerprints that can be found in the Aadhaar database. But they couldn’t get her fingerprints as they were erased due to decomposition.
Had the body been recovered on January 29 itself, it would have been easy for the police to establish the identity of the woman and nab the accused, he said. The police recovered the severed body parts of the woman from two gunny bags near Botanical Garden at Kodapur on January 30.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police have begun a house-to-house inquiry to find some leads in the case and have sought the help of the citizens for the same. Over 70 policemen formed into 13 teams have taken up the inquiry. The police are trying to trace the vehicle used for transporting the two gunny bags containing the pregnant woman’s body on January 29.
A senior cop said experts were busy retrieving video footages obtained from a nearby Udipi hotel at Gachibowli which is said to have captured images of the woman having food on January 28. “The data will be retrieved soon. We are hoping to track the vehicle,” the officer said.
The police believe that if the woman was from the same area, locals would have identified her or at least a missing case would have been registered by now.
