Anantapur: Even though the authorities are trying to complete the seeding process of UID cards with banks and LPG agencies, the performance on the seeding front is not satisfactory in many parts of the district.
Though, a deadline of three months was given to complete the seeding process to implement the cash transfer scheme, a large number of LPG customers have not seeded their bank accounts so far.
Two months ago gas agencies again started asking customers to submit fresh documents regarding details of SB account. Employees from a gas agency told this newspaper that they have to obey directions from higher authorities though all the data was submitted to bankers.
For instance, the details of only 4,300 customers of the Mallikarjuna Gas Agency at Court Road in Anantapur were seeded with bankers so far. Official sources said, nearly 26,000 gas connections existed at the agency.
Of this about 18,000 customers have got Aadhaar cards while 4,800 customers are yet to get them. Anantapur DSO K. Santhakumari revealed that nearly 3,500 gas connections were blacklisted as they did not have identity proof.
“We’re insisting that gas agencies and bankers should complete the process in time to start the cash transfer scheme for LPG customers in the district,” she said.
