The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has asked registered employers to log on to its Online Transfer of Claim Portal (OTCP) and download the Universal Account Numbers (UANs) of their employees, through SMS, email or other modes of communication.
Through a press release on Monday, the organisation asked employers to update the ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) particulars of their employees such as Aadhaar number, NPR number, PAN, bank account number, driving licence, passport, ration card and election card.
Employers can access UAN and manage KYC through OTCP available at http://www.epfindia.gov.in/UAN_Services.html.
The EPFO has also requested employees to get UANs from the employers concerned, and register on the webpage. UANs will enable the organisation to provide services directly to members without depending on the employers, the note informed.
