GURGAON: Just a day before the entire district is to be covered by the direct benefit transfer ( DBT) scheme of the LPG subsidy to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, around 26% of the total population of Gurgaon is yet to receive their unique IDs.
There are 39 enrolment centres for Aadhaar cards in Gurgaon with 46 operational kits that enroll around 1,000 citizens daily, says Ekta Chopra, city magistrate and nodal officer of aadhaar enrolment. By her own calculation, it will take at least 12 months to cover the remaining 3,70,000 people of Gurgaon if the enrolment happens at the rate of 1,000 a day on all 30 days of the month.
