GHMC Announces 100-day Plan for Developmental Works

HYDERABAD:The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced a 100-day Action Plan for implementation of developmental works in the city.
In the next 100 days, GHMC proposes to distribute Rs 1,000 crore as matching grants to Self Help Groups (SHGs), setting up 1,500 RO water plants in slums and other weaker section colonies, providing bank loans to 5,000 persons under driver cum owner scheme and establishing of 1,000 e-libraries in different localities of Greater Hyderabad.
GHMC special officer Somesh Kumar along with GHMC special commisisoner Navin Mittal and senior officials held a special review meeting n Saturday.
In the next 100 days, about 200 markets would be upgraded and modernised as model markets, one dhobighat will be constructed, nNearly 100 km of green curtains will be raised along the main footpaths of main roads and construction of one housing colony in each Assembly constituency falling under GHMC limits.
The GHMC will construct a two bedroom flat with a hall, kitchen and toilets, establish about 1,000 gym centres, 100 volleyball and basketball courts and set up Rs 5 food centres in different parts of the city.
Link Aadhaar Numbers with EPIC: Somesh Kumar asked officials concerned to link Aadhaar numbers with Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) and complete the task at the earliest.
The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the houses and collect information manually. Apart from that the GHMC will create a special awareness among people for updating records. The programme will be taken up in all 24 Assembly constituencies.
