GUNTUR:Citizens of Guntur can now get a water tanker delivering the required amount of drinking water with just a click of icon on mobile phones.
For the first time, the Guntur Municipal Corporation has launched the ‘Dial a Tanker’ and it will become operational on April 7. GMC officials have developed a mobile app - GMC Dial a tanker, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store on android mobiles.
Using the app, name, mobile number, assessment number, Aadhaar number and complete address have to be registered. Once the registration process is completed, a PIN will be issued which will have to be registered.
Registration for the programme will commence on Saturday (April 4) itself and after 48 hours a message will be issued to the applicant using Aadhaar number and Assessment number. The applicant has to use the phone number registered to dial for the tanker.
Those who have no access to mobile app can use the SMS and they have to send the message to mobile number 7667222333. The SMS message should be sent to mycity space GNT space 4000 or 12000.
TANKER RATES
Household purpose
Rs 500 for 4000 KL;
Rs 1000 for 12000 KL
Commercial purpose
Rs 1000 for 4000 KL
Rs 1500 for 12000 KL
Delivery will be made in three hours from the time of dialling for the tank.
