7886 - AKK highlights ‘inconvenience’ faced in availing AADHAAR card - Nagaland Post

Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu (AKK) has expressed the “inconvenience and problem’ faced by the public of Aghunaqa area in availing Aam Aadmi Ka Adhikar (AADHAAR) card issued by the government of India.
 In a press release, Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu president Mughavi Awomi and general secretary Hetoyi Katty said that the citizens of  Aghunaqa area comprising of 38 villages has to travel about 30-40 kilometres to the nearest ADC office Nuiland in order to generate their biometrics.
At such the union said that out of the entire population only 15-20% has completed the process and the rest 80-85% was yet to undergo the process as aged citizens as well as young children face transportation constrains to long distance.
Keeping this in mind, Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu has asked the concerned authority/department to send a team to Aghunaqa area and conduct the procedures of biometrics in all the villages under Aghunaqa area so that all the residents could avail AADHAAR card.
Aghunaqa Kukami Kuqhakulu has also requested government department and financial institutes not to make AADHAAR card a mandatory document unless 100% biometrics was covered in the area.
