Jung links Aadhaar with electoral data

Making the much-awaited move to join the Election Commission’s National Electoral Rolls, Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung linked his Aadhaar number with his voter ID data in his office at Raj Nivas here on Tuesday.
Mr. Jung praised the efforts of Delhi Chief Electoral Officer under the NERPAP, saying it would go a long way in achieving a healthy electoral roll here.
He called upon the voters of Delhi to participate in NERPAP by linking their Aadhaar number with the electoral details.
The L-G completed the exercise through the Election Commission’s national voter’s service portal in the presence of Chief Electoral Officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar.
NERPAP was launched on March 3 with the objective of achieving error-free electoral rolls by Independence Day.
According to the sources, 26.08 lakh electors in Delhi have linked their Aadhaar number with their electoral data through various modes since the launch of NERPAP.
